Data Collection and Analysis
MARSHALL staff is adept at acquiring data from public and private
sources to support your project needs.
MARSHALL is also highly skilled at interactive modeling and land cover
mapping using satellite and aerial imagery products. Our professional
staff provides imagery analysis and related products. We can also
serve this information to clients over the Internet, if desired.
Remotely Sensed Digital Data
MARSHALL Offers a Full Spectrum of Solutions
Recent events in the remote sensing field have made the acquisition of
high spatial resolution digital data a reality for many users.
However, this data is not a "magic bullet" solution for all projects
and situations.
As a business partner with both Space Imaging and SPOT Image, MARSHALL
can provide your organization with relatively inexpensive image
products that are easy to integrate into an agency-wide GIS.
Computer processing of this digital data gives professionals an
inexpensive alternative to many projects that previously could be
accomplished only through time consuming manual interpretation.
MARSHALL'S years of experience can be a great resource to help you
decipher the properties of remote-sensing technologies and the types of
information that each data type is most suited for.
SPOT Image has just released their USA Select line of imagery. The USA
Select line is a premier collection of current 10-meter panchromatic
data collected from 1998 to the present. This data is sold on a per
state basis. Pricing for the USA Select line of data has been
significantly reduced, and the licensing options are very liberal.
This data is an excellent option for many Base Mapping and Utility
applications. It is suitable for anyone with an interest in a large
area.
MARSHALL also offers Landsat Bite Size products through Space Imaging.
If you have ever had to buy several Landsat scenes in order to cover
an area of interest that is split by many scenes, this is the product
that will solve that problem. These scenes are offered in bite-size 15
x 15 minute or 30 x 30 minute quadrangles, and the quads coincide with
existing USGS map series conventions. The high spectral resolution, the large coverage area, and the huge archive make this
an excellent product for projects involving Regional Change Detection, Regional Growth Management, Regional Land Cover Classification, Regional Vegetation Studies, and Regional Base Mapping.
When deciding which imagery to select for a particular project, many
factors need to be taken into account. If the size of the features
you need to identify dictates that a high level of spatial resolution
is required, MARSHALL can provide IKONOS data in either 1-meter
panchromatic or 4-meter multi-spectral. An in depth consultation with
MARSHALL staff will enable you to determine the appropriate data type
to use for your particular project.
In addition to helping you decide which data to purchase, MARSHALL can
provide value-added imagery analysis and related products. We are
highly skilled at interactive modeling and land cover mapping using
Spot Image and Space Imaging products. We can even serve this
information over the Internet, if desired.
While imagery alone is generally not a total solution, if used
correctly, imagery can be a very powerful tool, able to meet a variety
of needs and add value to your enterprise-wide GIS.
MARSHALL can help your organization tap into the full potential of this
exciting and relatively inexpensive resource.
